摘要：
The western North Pacific Ocean (WNP) is the most active tropical cyclone (TC) basin in the global oceans. Meanwhile, the Kuroshio is a strong western boundary current of the WNP passing through the east of Taiwan all year round. Additionally, historical typhoon tracks indicate that more than 60% of typhoons struck Taiwan through a hallway from east to west coasts. In brief, this implies that the process of Kuroshio-typhoon interaction (KTI), which might influence typhoon intensity changes just before their landfall to Taiwan, is an essential process took place off east Taiwan. A series of studies focus on the process of Kuroshio-typhoon interaction surrounding Taiwan will be demonstrated. The main target is to deepen our understanding about Kuroshio-typhoon interaction as well as the implications of these interactions back to typhoon development.
